Method
To make the sauce place the chocolate, syrup and butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat and stir in the optional brandy or rum. Slice the bananas. Whip the cream until just thickening. Place a scoop of ice cream into each of 4 tall sundae glasses, then add slices of banana, some sauce, cream and nuts. Repeat the layers, finishing with cream sprinkled with nuts and flaked chocolate. To complete each chocolate and banana sundae, add a wafer biscuit.
