How to make Chocolate Pear Loaf Cake:

caster sugar |

self-raising flour |
| 1 level tsp |
baking powder |
| 25g |
cocoa powder |

ripe pears, peeled & chopped |
Method
Melt the chocolate slowly over a pan of hot water or in the microwave. Cream the sugar & margarine, add eggs. Fold in flour, baking powder & cocoa. Add pears and melted chocolate. Bake 180C in a greased loaf tin for approx 50 mins.
Cake is very moist and keeps well if wrapped tightly in clingfilm or foil. Ripe mashed bananas can be substituted for pears.
