How to make Chocolate Parkin:

ground cinnamon |
Method
Preheat oven to 350f/180c/gas mark 4. Grease and line a 23cm (9") deep, square cake tin. Sieve dry ingredients together into a bowl. Melt the butter, sugar and syrup in a large pan, stir in milk and egg, then add the oatmeal, dry ingredients, chopped chocolate and mix well. Pour into tin and bake for 1-1 and a half hours. Cool. Serve sliced and buttered.
