How to make Apricot and Chocolate Squares:

Ingredients |
| 225g (8oz) |
plain flour |
| 1tsp |
baking powder |
| 100g (3.5oz) |
caster sugar |
| 85g (3oz) |
soft brown sugar |
| 225g (8oz) |
unsalted butter |
| 150g (5.5oz) |
rolled oats |
| 225g (8oz) |
apricot jam |
| 100g (3.5oz) |
milk chocolate chips |
| 25g (1oz) |
flakes almonds |
Method
preheat oven to 190 degrees C/375 degrees F/gas mark 5. line a 30x20cm 12x8inch rectangular deep baking tray. sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl. add the caster sugar and brown sugar to the flour and mix well add the butter and rub . then add the oats. put half of the mixture into the tray and bake for 10 mins. spread the jam other the cooked mixture then add choc chips. mix in the remaining mixture and add the almonds. then bake for a further 20-25 mins until golden brown then leave to cool then cut into squares.
You could add melted chocolate on top for extra taste.
